Fall Foliage

Ask anyone where the best Fall Colors are to be found and undoubtedly you'll be told you've got to head to the likes of the Virginia, Connecticut, New York or Vermont.

But don't forget about us in northern New Mexico, Forbes certainly hasn't! They've just come out with their "10 Must Visit Fall Foliage Destinations" and the Enchanted Circle drive, a delightful 85 mile drive through Taos, Red River and Eagles Nest, has been included among other more obvious choices. Along with that drive, we have many wonderful hikes through the surrounding mountains that will give you plenty of opportunity to use your camera.

So if you're heading this way, please do look us up and we'll show you an alternative fall color experience.

San Geronimo Day Festivities

In years gone by, Taos Pueblo was a major trade hub for the Southwest and along with San Geronimo, the Patron Saint of Taos Pueblo, this is celebrated over the weekend of the 29th and 30th September.

The festivities start with Vespers at the Taos Pueblo San Geronimo Church on the 29th, before the traditional Foot race, The Pole Dance and the Clowns all take center stage on the 30th. All the while, the Pueblo Plaza is graced by vendors from various American Indian tribes including many Pueblo tribes, Hopis, Navajos and even tribes from as far away as the Pacific Northwest.

Its a weekend not to missed, so if you need a place to stay, please do give us a call on 575-758-0287 or book directly on our website at www.taoshaciendadelsol.com.
