Spring in Taos

Spring has arrived in Taos. The last 10 days of skiing at Taos Ski Valley will be warm and delightful.
With a 60 inch base, there is plenty of snow. Sitting out on the deck of the Bavarian Restaurant with a
sausage plate and beer is the perfect way to enjoy the Ski Valley.
Taos Pueblo has reopened after being closed several weeks for ceremonial activities so our
tourism is back in full swing. Los Rios has even started river rafting already and horse back riding
is a great activity on Pueblo Land with Storm Star. Today we have sunny skies and a high of 64!

Spring Break Festivities!

Its been a pretty busy few days here at the Hacienda del Sol B&B.

First off we had about 26" of snow on Friday and Saturday nights, meaning that the skiing has been excellent for the last few days. Combine that with the real spring-like weather we've been having, and we're in for a great week of skiing, snowboarding, tubing or just sitting back on a deck enjoying a well earnt drink!

On Saturday night, the managers (and a few guests!) headed off to the Taos Mesa Brewery for a wonderful evening that involved a lot of dancing to "Last To Know" (a great local band), but the evening also included stilt dancers and airel acrobats, a real "Taos"night out! Unsurprisingly, a great evening was had by all!

With St Patricks Day this coming weekend, the weather getting better and better everyday and all the usual  live music, art and great restaurants, get yourself up to Taos, stay at the Hacienda del Sol B&B, and recharge those batteries!

Spring Break off with a Bang!

EBTourchlightAndFireworks02

Its that time of year, when the sun is out and skiing is well and truly on ... its time for Spring Break Skiing!

There is plenty going on up in the Ski Valley including a fireworks display to celebrate the birthday of Ernie Blake, the man who founded Taos Ski Valley in 1954, on the 9th, a New Belgium scavenger hunt and the Spring Beer Festival (the 16th and 9th respectively) a Teen/College snowsport week (10th through the 15th), plus all the usual live music and great restaurants to enjoy.

The Hacienda del Sol B&B does still have a few rooms available, so if you are looking for the perfect place to enjoy both the Ski valley and Taos itself, whilst soaking in our wonderful view (not forgetting our brand new outdoor hot tub!), do give us a call on 575-758-0287 or visit or website www.taoshaciendadelsol.com.

March Already!

My, my, my, time does fly here in Taos! Last week we had 3ft of snow and today, we enter March with clear blue skies!
There's plenty going on for all you lucky people who are heading our way this coming weekend. Within a short walk or quick drive from the Hacienda del Sol's front door, we've got the Wailers (of Bob Marley and the Wailers fame!) playing at the KTAOS, "Restaurant Week" featuring El Meze and perennial favorite, Doc Martins, to name just a few, starting on Sunday, the Salomon Freestyle Championships continuing until Saturday and lastly one of the worlds foremost classical string quartets, The American String Quartet, performing on Sunday!

Combine that with the great skiing, all the sunshine you can handle, great food and drinks, music, art museums and that relaxed Taos atmosphere, you're in for quite a time.

Check out our website, www.taoshaciendadelsol.com or call us on 575-758-0287 for our latest availability.
